KindNess Glass

Hello everyone, my name is Fiona and I am KindNess Glass.  My ever patient husband aka the "reluctant woodturner" / "quality controller" and my dog Brea, is my clock watcher and companion when making glass.   However, KindNess Glass would not be here without each and every one of you making contact with me, purchasing some of my glass or providing feedback on my creations.   I thank you all and to Helen for supporting me on market days - without you all, this would not be possible.  Thank you.

This is not a journey I had mapped out but, boy, I love it - so much fun - so creative and each glass day is another day of "what if" etc.   I left the NHS after 24 years as I was burnt out - I was a Health Professional in Mental Health Services and I could give no more of me.  Glass has given me purpose, structure, creativity, social connectedness and cognitive stimulation.  For that I am truly grateful.

I created Hearts of Kindness as a way of encouraging people to look after their mental health.  The hearts of kindness can help to reduce mental chatter.  How,  the colours all resonate with us for different reasons, and we all choose different colours; the sensory experience when we hold the heart and then on the back of the KindNess Glass business card, is a simple grounding exercise that people can remember.  The hearts can be used with the grounding exercise to pause and then reconnect when ready.  It really is the whole experience that is pleasurable and helps and no-one knows you are doing it - the heart could be in your pocket, beside a computer, beside your bed - anywhere that you can see it and hold it.  Each one is unique and I can't make two the same.   I can be contacted on fismi04@outlook.com and I can send you photos of what I currently have, if you wish.  They all come in a handmade box, with a stand and the business card.  Hearts of Kindness can be purchased from the link below:

I have planned to undertake markets this year and will be found at Market on the Green at Drumnadrochit and Aviemore Market on the Green twice a month (second weekend and fourth weekend).  Hopefully, I will get the chance to meet you.  Thank you.   Fiona
